The Dead Weather, 2009 yılında Nashville'de kurulmuş alternatif rock grubu. Grup üyeleri: Alison Mosshart (The Kills ve Discount), Jack White (The White Stripes ve The Raconteurs), Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age)[1] ve Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs ve The Greenhornes). Dead Weather ilk single Hang You from the Heavens'ı 11 Mart 2009'da çıkardı.
Grubun ikinci albümü Sea of Cowards 7 Mayıs 2010'da İrlanda'da 10 ve 11 Mayısta ise Birleşik Devletler'de ve Amerika'da çıkar. Albümden ilk single Die by the Drop ise 30 Martta yayınlanır.

Ekim,2008'de The Raconteurs ve The Kills Memphis, Tennessee de turdayken gruplar birbirlerine yardım eder; Jack White bronşitten dolayı sesini, The Kills grubu ise tur otobüslerini (bir hafta sonra bulundu) kaybeder. The Kills grubu sahne için hazırlanırken, White'ın sesi zayıflar, Alison Mosshart sahneye çıkar, "Steady as She Goes" ve "Salute Your Solution" şarkılarına White yerine ön vokal yapar. Turun son gününde White, Mosshart'ı Nassville'deki stüdyosuna davet eder, Gary Numan-"Are Friends Electric?e cover yaparlar. "Birkaç ay sonra," Mosshart'ın açıklaması, "Jack beni aradı ve, 'bak,bence bunu nihayete erdirmeliyiz.'dedi" Ocak,2009'da White,Mosshart, Lawrence ve Fertita stüdyoda buluşur ve bir gecede birden fazla şarkı tamamlarlar.
Jack White grubu kurmasını mutlu bir kaza diye tanımlıyor.
Sonunda The Dead Weather doğdu, Jack White bateride, Alison Mosshart ön vokalde, Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs) bas gitarda ve Dean Fertita (The Raconteurs ile tur yapan 'Queens of the Stone Age' grubu üyesi ) gitarda ve orgda.[2]
