Alexander is a city in Rush County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, 54 people lived there.[3]

Alexander is at 38°28′10″N 99°33′11″W / 38.46944°N 99.55306°W / 38.46944; -99.55306 (38.469417, -99.552998).

According to the United States Census Bureau says that the city has a total area of 0.26 square miles (0.67 km2). All of it is land.[2]

2020 census[change | change source]

The 2020 census said that there were 54 people, 29 households, and 16 families living in the city. Of the households, 75.9% owned their home and 24.1% rented their home.

The median age was 58.7 years. Of the people, 90.7% were White, 1.9% were Black, 1.9% were Native American, and 5.6% were two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 20.4% of the people.[3][4]

The 2010 census said that there were 65 people, 31 households, and 20 families living in the city.[5]

Education[change | change source]

Alexander is served by USD 395 La Crosse Public Schools.[6]

Alexander High School was closed in 1966 through school unification. The Alexander High School mascot was Whippets.[7]
