Visual Editor[editar código-fonte]

Hello. Thanks for wanting to hear my opinion. I can't compare the Content Translation's graphic editor with the normal Visual Editor because I don't use the Visual Editor at all. I tried it when it was imposed to all Wikipedias, but it was rejected in my community, being a second option for editing, instead of the default. Like the other editors, I don't liked it. It's for noobs, can't do most of I do with the source-code editor. Or at least it was like this at that time. I don't know if it is still this way, and don't want to try again to discover, it's really bad for me. For noobs OK, but I don't like.

In the beggining, Content Translation wasn't very good too... Could not add links, italic and bold (which is very basic!!), so it was needed to edit carefully to keep these features on the text. But even then its cost/benefit was positive: it is really really good to translate easily like this. Now that these missing features are no longer missing, I don't have not even a single reason to complain, apart from annoying bugs - but it's still beta anyway.--Mister Sanderson (discussão) 02h21min de 13 de janeiro de 2016 (UTC)[responder]

Thank you very much for your reply. Your last edits in the visual editor were in September and June. I don't know if you remember them. In 2013, the visual editor was very limited. Now, it can do almost everything. Some things are faster (adding a column to a table), and some things are slower (making changes to some templates), but there is very little that cannot be done.

I have heard that Content Translation does not support references and some other kinds of editing very well. It's possible that citation support would improve if Content Translation were "inside" the visual editor, rather than separately. For example, look at the history for this article. User:Drgkl translated the page, and then had to make a lot of corrections afterwards. I don't know what the long-term plans are for Content Translation, but I hope that it continues to do everything that you want. I probably clicked wrong, "Edit" instead of "Edit source-code", and had laziness to return and click right only to do a simple correction. But overall, Visual Editor was very bad when I tried, and I don't want to try it again until I'm sure it's acceptable. You said it is already, but I'm not seeing someone defending it here in this community - mainly because all experienced editors appers to be acting just like me. I don't like not being able to edit templates. This wasn't possible when I tried. In Wikia it's not possible too, so I replaced the "visual editor" there for the source-code too. As Visual Editor was very far from acceptable when it was imposed, you saying it now allows editing templates makes me suppose that there is yet some limitation on the edit of templates, like being able to edit info but not change structure or change the template used. I'm very suspicious about V.E.!

I could not understand the example you gave. The article is older than 2007, it was not created using Content Translation. Plus, I do not understand Deutsch, so I can't really check what happened... I understand, for now, only English, Portuguese and Spanish. But anyways, I had no problems with references until now aside from bugs that crops them and needs manual fixing after. Mister Sanderson, it has always been possible to edit templates in the visual editor here. That ability was added in June 2013, more than a month before it arrived here.

In the German example, he used the Content Translation tool to replace the old article. Then he cleaned up the mess. Looking at this, it appears that Content Translation cannot be used to edit references or templates. VisualEditor can do both of these things. Bug[editar código-fonte]

Hi! I am not sure why, but the reply tool is causing a bug on {{mbox}} at some pages (like this one). When the tool is activated, the box' borders and background are missing. I tried to debug, without sucess. ━ ALBERTOLEONCIO Who, me? 01h24min de 12 de dezembro de 2020 (UTC)[responder]
