Boana – rodzaj płazów bezogonowych z podrodziny Cophomantinae w rodzinie rzekotkowatych (Hylidae).
Zasięg występowania[edytuj | edytuj kod]
Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki występujące w tropikach Ameryki Środkowej i Południowej od Nikaragui do Argentyny, zamieszkuje również Trynidad i Tobago[10].

- Boana: epitet gatunkowy Rana boans Linnaeus, 1758 (łac. boans „ryczący”, od boo „ryczeć”)[1].
- Hypsiboas: gr. ὑψιβοας hupsiboas „głośno krzycząca żaba”[2]. Gatunek typowy: Hyla palmata Daudin, 1802 (= Rana boans Linnaeus, 1758).
- Auletris: gr. αυλητρις aulētris „fletnistka, flecistka”[3]. Gatunek typowy: Rana boans Linnaeus, 1758.
- Lobipes: łac. lobus „płat”[11]; pes, pedis „stopa”, od gr. πους pous, ποδος podos „stopa”[12]. Gatunek typowy: Hyla palmata Daudin, 1801 (= Rana boans Linnaeus, 1758).
- Hypsipsophus: gr. ὑψι hupsi „wysoko, w górze”[13]; ψοφος psophos „hałas”[14]. Gatunek typowy: Hyla xerophilla A.M.C. Duméril & Bibron, 1841 (= Hyla crepitans Wied, 1824).
- Phyllobius: gr. φυλλον phullon „liść”[15]; βιος bios „życie”[16]. Gatunek typowy: Hyla albomarginata Spix, 1824.
- Centrotelma: gr. κεντρον kentron „ostry koniec, kolec”[17]; τελμα telma, τελματος telmatos „bagno, moczary”[18]. Gatunek typowy: Hyla infulata Wied, 1824 (= Hyla albomarginata Spix, 1824).
- Hylomedusa: rodzaj Hyla Laurenti, 1768; Meduza (gr. Μεδουσα Medousa, łac. Medusa), w mitologii greckiej najmłodsza z trzech Gorgon[19]. Gatunek typowy: Hyla crepitans Wied, 1825.
- Cinclidium: gr. κιγκλιδις kinklidis „szybki, podrygujący ruch”[20]. Gatunek typowy: Cinclidium granulatum Cope, 1867 (= Rana boans Linnaeus, 1758); młodszy homonim Cinclidium Blyth, 1842 (Aves).
- Cophomantis: gr. κωφος kōphos „tępy, stępiony”; μαντις mantis, μαντεως manteōs „żaba drzewna”[8]. Gatunek typowy: Cophomantis punctillata Peters, 1870 (= Hyla geographica Spix, 1824).
- Cincloscopus: gr. κιγκλις kinklis, κιγκλιδος kinklidos „otwarcie”[20]; σκοπος skopos „poszukiwacz”, od σκοπεω skopeō „badać”[21]. Nazwa zastępcza dla Cinclidium Cope, 1867.
