『ナゲッツII:オリジナル・アーティファクツ・フロム・ザ・ブリティッシュ・エンパイア・アンド・ビヨンド、1964-1969』（Nuggets II: Original Artyfacts from the British Empire and Beyond, 1964-1969）は、2001年にリリースされたライノ・レコードからの4ディスク・ボックス・セットである[4][5]。

概要[編集]

オリジナルのナゲッツのコンピレーションはアメリカのポップスとロック・シーンに集中していたが、2番目のナゲッツはその焦点を世界の他の地域に移し、イギリス(The Pretty ThingsやSmall Facesなど)、カナダ(Guess WhoやThe Haunted)、日本(ザ・モップス)、オーストラリア(The Easybeats、 The Masters Apprentices、 Ronnie Burns)、ニュージーランド(The La De Das、Chants R&B)、スウェーデン(Tages)、アイスランド(Thor's Hammer)、オランダ(Q65、 Cuby+Blizzards、Golden Earring)、ペルー(We All Together)、ブラジル(Os Mutantes)、ウルグアイ(Los Shakers)、チェコスロバキア(The Matadors)、オーストリア(The Slaves)などである。

このコンピレーションは、音楽コンサルタントのアレック・パラオと制作コーディネーターのゲイリー・スチュワートによって制作された。パッケージには、1960年代後半の英国のレコード レーベルデラム・レコード、 リアクションおよびイミディエイト 、およびシェル・タルミーのプラネット・レコードのデザインに似た個々のCDのデザインを備えた、完全にイラスト化された本が箱に入っている。ライナー・ノーツは、BompのGreg Shawによるものである[6]。

エンターテインメント・ウィークリーは、「そのメロディアスな60年代後半の喧騒は、ザ・フーとキンクスの疎外よりも、ビートルズとストーンズのクールさに敬意を表し、アメリカのガレージにうなずく」と書いている。ニューヨーク・タイムズは次のように書いている[7]。「クラシックなアメリカン・ガレージ・ロックとサイケデリック・ナゲットを収めた1998年のボックス・セットの続編であり、バッド・ボーイのクラシックとオブスキュアのコレクションとして強くお勧めします」
