File source problem with File:Zahaan.JPG[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Zahaan.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:01, 15 May 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 06:01, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of F. C. Shark[edit]

You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

The article F. C. Shark has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Salvio Let's talk about it! 14:28, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on F. C. Shark requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

Userfying Go to the template. Go to move. In the new box, make it something like User:ZZ47/Template:Victory SC squad (you can name it anything you want, starting with "User:ZZ47".) Then you're done. The same thing goes for the football biographies you're making. They don't have sources yet, so they don't establish notability. You have to show that these guys are important and the way you do that is with sources. Again, let me know if this is confusing. —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 05:07, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I can completely understand if you are discouraged. But, keep going. You do write good articles, just have rotten time picking footballers.

I don't know if you got my note on my talk page, but you should create User:ZZ47/Ismail Rasheed and add the Dhivehi language references. By winning the awards he did, he is notable. If you want to add any other footballers, it might be a good idea to run them by me or Sir Sputnik. If they look notable, you should be writing them up. Sir Sputnik is more of a football expert than I am, but I do not mind looking at them. Keep checking on Ismail Seremba, as soon as he plays a senior game, definitely add him. Re: Userified footballer page[edit]

No, this footballer is not notable. Let me try an spell this out as clearly as possible. A footballer is notable (i.e. permitted to have an article) if one of the following is true:

  1. He has played for his country's senior national team.
  2. He has played at the Olympics. (No other international youth competition grants notability).
  3. He has played in a fully pro league. A complete list of fully pro leagues can be found at WP:FPL.
  4. He has played a match in a national cup competition between to clubs from fully pro leagues.
  5. He has played in the UEFA Champions League or the UEFA Europa League, excluding the qualfying rounds.

For these criteria, when I say played, I mean played in actual matches. Being called-up to the national team, or being signed to a fully pro club, without ever playing does not grant notability. There are exceptions to these criteria, but they are few and far between. For the time being, I'd suggest don't create any articles that don't meet the criteria I just laid out. If you do, they'll probably end up being deleted. Hope that helps. Sir Sputnik (talk) 14:25, 15 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No, there is no task force for Maldives football. Existance of WikiProjects and task forces is based on editor interest. I'd love to but unfortunately I have no idea to which template you are referring. Clear that up, and I'll gladly to what I can. Sir Sputnik (talk) 02:43, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 10[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited Haveeru Sports Awards (football), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Laszlo Kiss and Mohamed Ibrahim (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 11:06, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Deleting templates[edit]

For any page you create other than your talk page, if you want it deleted and no one else has made significant changes to that page, simply add {{db-g7}} to the top of that page and an admin will usually delete it within 48 hours. For more details see: WP:CSD#G7. Sir Sputnik (talk) 23:47, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Pro Leagues[edit]

I'm assuming you're referring to the status of the league with respect to player notability. In that regard, the issue is less the status of the league itself, but the fact that there are no sources to indicate the status of the league one way or the other. Notability requires verifiable sources. So with out sources to show that it is fully pro, we can't assume for purposes of player notability that it is. That being said, I would be very surprised to learn that football in the Maldives has a fully pro league, when you consider that there are a number of European countries where football is much prevalent that don't have fully pro leagues. (Ireland, Wales, Estonia, Montenegro...) At present, there is no consensus on exactly what "fully-pro" means but its generally accepted that any league in which some of the players are amateurs, or are required to hold other jobs outside of football are not fully pro. I hope that clears things up. Cheers. Sir Sputnik (talk) 15:22, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Resilient Barnstar
Congratulations, ZZ47, you've recently made your 1,000th edit to articles on English Wikipedia!

Thank you for expanding and improving the coverage of sports in the encyclopedia, and for not letting deletion get you down. Keep up the great work! Maryana (WMF) (talk) 22:29, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Sudeep Sahir has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. §§AnimeshKulkarni (talk) 18:27, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid I don't know how to make them either. My suggsetions would be either ask User:PeeJay2K3, the author of the file you showed me, or use the image label template (see 2011–12 Hertha BSC season#Starting 11 for a sample). Cheers. Sir Sputnik (talk) 16:32, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Line-up images[edit]

It's pretty complicated for me to explain. Is there a particular game you want an image created for? – PeeJay 17:05, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

OK sure. Just download a program called Inkscape and use that to edit one of the line-up images already on Wikipedia. It's not a difficult program to use, but if you have any problems with it, let me know. – PeeJay 17:12, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm afraid I don't know how to make a video like that. But if you tell me the line-ups for the games you want graphics made for, I can make them for you. – PeeJay 11:15, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article List of John Terry goals has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Per WP:NOTSTATS

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Just a note to say thanks for all your work on the article. I'm sorry, I hadn't realised you'd already started on it before I did - otherwise I would have left you to it! Clavdia chauchat (talk) 19:18, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I can't upload a video to youtube because I don't know how. But to make the line-up pictures you just need to download a free program called Inkscape. Then open one of the existing files in Inkscape and it is easy to change the names, colours and move the shirts about into the formation you need. Clavdia chauchat (talk) 08:07, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Great work! Just one small thing though: where it says 'The defender is versatile with both feet and boasts incredible aerial ability.' looks like it is taken straight off the Chelsea website! You need to write it in different words, or attribute the quote directly to the website. People on here get cross about their WP:COPYPASTE rule. I just don't want them to delete your stuff and waste all your brilliant work. Clavdia chauchat (talk) 12:40, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I found the goal she scored but I'm not sure of the Stadium. I think it might be Perutz but couldn't find anything to prove it. The season article you have made looks great - let's hope Chelsea can beat Arsenal again tomorrow! Clavdia chauchat (talk) 10:46, 9 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've reverted the article to what looked like the last good version of the article. Re: Team kits[edit]

Hello ZZ47. All I do is download a template of a blank kit, or one similar to a kit I am trying to make, and edit the colours to match the actual kit. To start making a kit you could use this template. Then you make the relevant changes to the kit, to match the one you are trying to create. You can do this using a simple editing software such as Paint. Using this kit as an example, I would just apply the black for the collar and the stripes, and I would then just fill the remaining space with purple. Once you have done this, you can upload the file to Commons using this form. Since you are creating the kit, you can then upload your work to here. Once you have given a name (making sure you put Kit_body_[name] if you are creating the main kit, Kit_left_arm_[name] if you are creating the left arm of a kit etc.) and license (Multi-license with CC-BY-SA-3.0 and GFDL is recommended), you can then upload the file. Then, when applying it to a Wikipedia article, use just _[name] in the appropriate section of the Football kit template and it will then appear on the article. Hope this helps - feel free to write on my talk page for further assistance. --Ricky Sen (talk) 17:29, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Maldives National Football Team[edit]

I've more less restored this to the version you requested. I did a bit of formatting, and removed some content I deemed inappropriate. Should the on going edit war on the page continue, please discuss the matter on the article's talk page rather than reverting it again. However, should you need to revert something in the future, just go into the edit history, preview the edit you want to revert to, click edit, and save the page. Hope that helped. Hello ZZ47,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Aslam Abdul Raheem for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Modern.Jewelry.Historian (talk) 04:32, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:István Urbányi in Eydhafushi.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:István Urbányi in Eydhafushi.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 20:10, 20 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Famous Players[edit]

Hi ZZ47, As you can see form the tags and my edit summaries, lists of "Famous Players" require clear inclusion criteria (i.e., intl Caps, played 100 games for the club, scored 100 goals, etc), other they are just a random list of players. I have no problem with the list in the article, but it should go until a proper set of inclusion criteria are added. Please consider doing this before reverting again.
