Mesosphaerocera is a genus of flies belonging to the family Lesser Dung flies.[3] Along with Parasphaerocera and Neosphaerocera, Mesosphaerocera is closely related to Afromyia and Sphaerocera and forms a distinct supergeneric group.[4]
