Flight Lieutenant L H Abbott, Air Ministry official photographer, on his return to Bari, Italy, after photographing Douglas Dakotas of No. 267 Squadron RAF over the Balkans. He is holding a Fairchild K-20 hand-held aerial camera, which has a 6-inch f.4.5 lens, which took 50 5"x 4" exposures on each roll of film. Examples of his work from this assignment can be seen under negative numbers CNA 3328, CNA 3333, CNA 3335 and CNA 3336. Like most of the photographers employed by the Air Ministry, Flt Lt Abbott was a professional press photographer, having worked for Planet News before the War. |
