Deutsch: Die Vorderseite zeigt einen kauernden Mann auf einem Löwen, den ein geflügelter Knabe entschleiert. Ihm gegenüber steht eine Frau mit Fackel in antikisierendem Gewand und Stilus und Tafel in der Hand. Im Hintergrund sind beim Mann ein Ibis, eine Palme und bei der Frau ein Eichenbäumchen zu sehen. Unterhalb im Abschnitt verweisen die Namen auf den Erfinder des Bildes Theodor Grosse und den Medailleur Wilhelm Kullrich. Die Rückseite nennt als Anlass der Prägung das 25-jährige Bestehen der Deutschen Morgenländischen Gesellschaft[1] und die Widmung.
English: The front side depicts a reclining man upon a lion who is unveiled by a winged youth. On the other side a woman approaches the man holding a torch and a board with stilus in the hands. An ibis and a palm tree are placed in the background of the man. Besides the woman a small oak tree is to be found. Below the picture are given the names of the inventor of the image, Theodor Grosse, and the engraver, Wilhelm Kullrich. The back side names on the outside the occasion of the coinage as the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the "Deutsche Morgenländische Gesellschaft"[2]. On the inside is a dedication for the first secretaries of the Deutsche Morgenländische Gesellschaft.
