Capture of the Dolphin, 3rd April 1813. TEXT: (on back of image) 1813- April 3. CAPTURE OF THE DOLPHIN, On 3rd April, 1813, the boats of the British squadron in Chesapeake Bay, during the pursuit of four large American schooners, fifteen miles up Rappahannock River, the large cutter of the 38-gun frigate Statira, under Lieut. George Bishop and the launch of the 36-gun frigate Maidstone, under Lieut. Matthew Liddon boarded and carried American Privateer Schooner Dolphin- 12 guns and 98 men.
