The 2024 season is the Kansas City Chiefs' 55th season in the National Football League (NFL), their 65th overall and their twelfth under head coach Andy Reid. The Chiefs enter the season as the defending champions for the second straight year and will attempt to become the first team in the Super Bowl era to win three straight Super Bowl championships. The Chiefs started 7–0 for the first time since 2013 and became the last undefeated team in the NFL following their Week 7 win over the San Francisco 49ers coupled with the Minnesota Vikings losing to the Detroit Lions earlier that day.

The Chiefs’ win was marred by an uncalled pass interference call, with some noting they had also received benefit on questionable calls in the previous weeks.[13] Others, including Falcons head coach Raheem Morris, noted that the Falcons got the ball back once more before the end of the game. Game referee Tra Blake stated the referee team did not see any pass interference from their angle.
